Why "trust" is the word

Most small business books "look fine" — until tax season, a loan application, or an audit proves they weren't.

If you've ever looked at your P&L and thought to yourself — that doesn't feel like the month we just had — your instinct is probably right. Books that merely balance and books that are actually correct are two different things. I do the second kind. Here's what that means in practice —

The second kind of books

I do the work most bookkeepers skip

Correct books aren't a software feature — they're a discipline. Four habits, every client, every month:

Real reconciliation, every month

Not just "the bank feed is connected" — every account proven correct, every variance explained to the dollar.

Reports you'll actually read

One page, plain English: what happened this month and whether you should care.

A specialist, not a call center

You work directly with me — 20+ years across accounts receivable, accounting management, and controller roles.

Problems flagged early

Anomalies surface the month they happen — not at tax time, when fixes cost triple.

A second set of eyes that never blinks.

On top of the work I do by hand, your books get something most bookkeepers can't offer: a dozen extra checks I built over 20 years of catching problems — deposit gaps, fee drift, balances trending the wrong way — run on your books every single month. The system flags what a tired human eye can miss; I personally investigate every flag. It's not there to do my job. It's there to guard yours.

"I truly believe that money gives you options — and options give you freedom. Clean books are where that starts."
— MIKE LEE, FOUNDER
Ways to work together

The same discipline, at the level your business needs

Whether you need the books handled, a financial right hand, or your QuickBooks untangled — it's all built on those four habits.

Tailored Bookkeeping

Monthly bookkeeping built around how your business actually runs — every account reconciled, every month, with a one-page report written for owners, not accountants.

Pricing that fits how you work

No packages, no one-size-fits-all tiers. A two-location café with daily cash deposits is a different job than a consultant who invoices eight clients a month — you pay for what your business actually needs.

Monthly bookkeeping
$225 – $900 / month
Set by transaction volume, number of accounts, and how much you want handled. Multi-location and high-volume businesses quoted individually.
One-time books review
$275 – $800
I go through your books and hand you a written report: what's right, what's off, and what it takes to fix. The fee credits in full toward your first month if we work together — so for ongoing clients, the review is effectively free.
Cleanup & catch-up
typically $2,000 – $5,000
Depends on how far back and how tangled things are. Larger projects quoted by scope.
QuickBooks training & consulting
$150 / hour
One-on-one, on your books, answering your questions — not a generic course.

What moves the number: transaction volume · accounts · payment platforms · payroll · the state of your books today. Not sure where you'd land? The free 15-minute call ends with a real number — not "it depends."

How it works

From "not sure" to sorted, in four steps

1

A free 15-minute call

Tell me about your business; I'll tell you what I'd expect to find in your books. No pitch — about a third of these calls end with "you're fine."

2

The books review

I go through everything and hand you a written report: what's right, what's off, what it takes to fix. $275–$800 by business size, credited in full toward your first month.

3

Cleanup, if needed

A fixed quote before any work starts. No surprises, no open-ended meters — you approve the number first.

4

A monthly rhythm

Every account reconciled to the dollar, every month, with a one-page report in plain English. You stop wondering.

The sharpest case of "looks right but isn't"

Sell through Square, Toast, Clover, or another payment platform?

These platforms don't deposit your sales — they batch them through clearing accounts most bookkeepers never reconcile. The books balance on paper while errors quietly compound underneath. Square, for example, runs four separate clearing accounts — cards, ACH, cash, and gift cards — and every one should hit $0 each month. And it's not just point-of-sale: service businesses invoicing through Square, Stripe, or PayPal have the same clearing accounts and the same blind spot.
