Square says you sold one number.
The bank shows another.

A simple three-step check: what you sold · what you received · what came out in between. I'll break the gap down to the penny — the same way I reconcile Square for my clients every month.

Step 1What you sold

Pick one settled day (yesterday works well) and read these from your Square Dashboard → Sales summary.

Leave cash and gift cards out. Cash never rides a Square deposit — and neither do sales paid with a gift card (that money landed back when the card was sold). Use the Card line from your sales summary, not the total.

Step 2What you received

The deposit (or deposits) that carried that day's sales. If it split into two, add them together.

Step 3What came out in between (fill in what applies, skip the rest)

No pitch. Sometimes the answer is "you're fine." Either way, you'll know.

I'll email it to you, plus a short series on making Square tie out every single month — clearing accounts, the weekend batch, holds, all of it, in plain English.
